Words of Inspiration and Motivation
"When we strengthen families, we ultimately strengthen the community. Our goal is that parents everywhere work with supportive providers, feel confident in their parenting role, and form strong, resilient attachments with their children. To help achieve this, providers must be responsive to parents, knowledgeable about child development, and eager to see every parent succeed."
T. Berry Brazelton, MD.
"Curriculum is not delivered. Milk is delivered. Curriculum should help children make deeper and fuller understanding of their own experiences."
Dr. Lilian Katz
Louise Derman-Sparks a Professor at Pacific Oak College, CA., says her "passion is to make sure all children are taught in environments that truly nurture their ability to grow and develop to their fullest ability."
Hi Nicole,
ReplyDeleteYour quote from Louise Sparks is so true. Children do need to learn in an environment thats condusive to them and that will allow them to grow and develop to their fullest potentail. Nice work on your Inspirational quotes.
Hi Nicole,
ReplyDeleteI also almost chose Louise Sparks because I agree with her passion to fix injustices in the world. She chose to do it through teaching low income children. I commend her on that!
Hi Nicole, from our studies, it's so glaring the importance of families in moulding children. Hence, I totally agree with Brazelton. Thanks for noting this.
ReplyDeleteHi Nicole,
ReplyDeleteI like the quote that states that the curriculum should help children make a deeper and fuller understanding of their own experiences. I completely agree. Children should be involved in their learning and allowed to create and build on their own understanding to help develop their critical thinking skills.
Aloha Nicole!
ReplyDeleteI really like the choices you've selected for this week to share with us. I believe that T. Berry Brazelton, MD says it perfectly. Parents and caregivers need to communicate and work together to help their children develop life skills and build strong, positive relationships.
